Students need to bring magnification to allow them to see well, close up very small details. As we will be sawing and scribing metal ...accurately. I use Optivisor, which you can buy from Cookson-Gold or just a good pair of Close up Glasses.
Description of Workshop
Let me share with you my 20+ years’ experience of making Jewellery, in this workshop I will teach you the technique of Keum Boo.
Keum Boo is the ancient Korean Art of applying gold Foil (not leaf, Foil is thicker) to Silver. I will show you how to apply Gold Foil to Sterling Silver and Fine silver. And how to oxidise your work (if you choose), to create a dramatic attractive black and gold Look.
We will make a Pendant or Earrings from your creations.
You will leave with your own unique piece of Gold and Silver Jewellery and a ‘How to hand out’ which will enable you to practice this technique at home. All Materials Inc. in the price.
