So selling your work is not easy!!!
Especially when you really (like most of my generation) hate social media, and especially for those of us who have been brave enough to look under the 'bedsheets' of who is really running the world (currently) and therefore social media (Facebook and Instagram =FBI), they have to let you know, and therefore your complicit.
Anyhoooo....its hard. so What most crafts people do until their work 'takes off' is to offer workshops/classes.
On a positive note, I'm a very sociable (though selective now) person, and love teaching...so this option is no hardship for me. So I have launched Jewellery Classes here in Cornwall where I currently live and Later on in the year In Bristol...where there are a lot more people!!! (for obvious reason...more people more customers/students). Please check dates and classes under my Classes section on this website.
I Taught English as a second language in Seoul South Korea for three years. Amazing party city and I learnt a lot about how to teach, as well as how to navigate your way around complex cultural differences, I was there over 20 yrs ago...when it wasn't as westernised as I would imagine it is nowadays.
When I got off the plane with my one way ticket, its how the schools out there, Hogwans, would try and 'trap' teachers....very dodge. All I could see was what looked like swastikas all in massive billboards all over the surrounding hills, I was like where the f.....have I landed now...???? It turns out the swastika is the reversed version of the ancient Buddhist symbol...those pesky satanists have to invert everything.
Anyway the reason for going down memory lane on this subject is to say I have 3 years of teaching, In a foreign culture to people who spoke very little English and I was good at it. Mainly I think because I love teaching.
